Overview

Kwomi is built by parents, for parents. Privacy is a core design principle — not an afterthought. Kwomi does not require you to create an account. Kwomi does not operate its own servers to store your artwork, child profile data, or photo library contents. Your content lives on your device and, if you choose to enable it, in your private iCloud account. This policy explains what limited information may be processed, by whom, and under what circumstances.

What Data We Collect

Information stored on your device and/or your private iCloud account

  • Artwork, scans, photos, and 3D captures you create or import
  • Child profile information you enter (name, avatar, optional birthday)
  • App settings, tags, and organization metadata

Kwomi does not use its own servers to store or access this content.

Information we may receive directly

  • Emails you send to support@kwomi.com — including your email address and any information you choose to include
  • Limited App Store purchase and subscription status made available by Apple (e.g., whether a subscription is active), used only to unlock Pro features

Information processed by Apple independently

  • App Store transactions and billing — handled entirely by Apple
  • Basic device diagnostics and crash logs, if enabled in your iOS settings — governed by Apple's privacy policy
  • iCloud infrastructure and CloudKit data storage — provided and operated by Apple

No analytics or tracking: Kwomi does not include third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or usage tracking pixels. We do not build behavioral profiles of our users.

We use this limited information only to operate the app, provide support, and enable features you request.

iCloud Backup

If you enable iCloud sync, Kwomi stores your content using Apple's CloudKit framework in your private iCloud account. This helps keep your library available across your Apple devices. We do not use Kwomi's own servers to store your artwork or child profile data. Apple processes and stores this data according to its own terms and privacy practices. Your iCloud data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, as described in Apple's iCloud security documentation. Kwomi does not access or use your private CloudKit data outside of the app's functionality on your device.

Camera & Photo Library Access

Kwomi requests access to your camera and photo library solely to capture and import artwork. Images are processed entirely on your device. Kwomi does not upload your photos or camera captures to any Kwomi-operated server. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your iPhone's Settings app.

Subscriptions & Payments

Kwomi Pro subscriptions are handled entirely through Apple's App Store in-app purchase system. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. All transactions are processed by Apple under their own privacy policy. We may receive limited purchase status information from Apple (such as whether a subscription is active or expired) to enable Pro features within the app.

Children's Privacy

Kwomi is intended for use by parents and guardians, not for direct use by children on their own. Child profile information — such as a name, avatar, or optional birthday — is entered by a parent or guardian and stored only on that person's device and in their private iCloud account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child, please contact us at support@kwomi.com and we will take prompt steps to address it.

Support Communications

If you contact us for support at support@kwomi.com, we will receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information only to respond to your request and provide support. We retain support communications only as long as necessary to resolve your request and for basic record-keeping. We do not use support communications for marketing purposes or share them with third parties, except where required by law.

Sharing & Export

Kwomi allows you to share or export artwork using your device's native sharing features — for example, to Messages, email, or your Photos library. When you choose to share or export content to a third-party app or service, that content will be handled according to that app or service's own terms and privacy practices. Kwomi is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party destinations you choose to share with.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your artwork or child profile data for advertising, profiling, or third-party marketing purposes. The limited information we may receive (support emails, subscription status from Apple) is used only to operate and support the app. It is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. It may be processed by Apple or other service providers as described in this policy, or as required by law.

Third-Party Services

Kwomi relies on Apple services including the App Store, iCloud/CloudKit, and device-level system permissions (camera, photo library). These services are operated by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Kwomi does not integrate any other third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services.

Data Deletion & Control

Because your content is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, you are in control of it:

  • Delete individual artwork items or child profiles from within the app at any time.
  • Deleting the app removes all locally stored app data from your device.
  • Content synced to iCloud may remain in your private iCloud account until you remove it through iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
  • If you reinstall Kwomi while using the same Apple ID, previously synced iCloud data may reappear on your device.
  • Cancelling a Kwomi Pro subscription is managed through iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

Regional Privacy Rights

Because Kwomi does not maintain centralized user profiles or content databases, many common privacy rights requests — such as requests to access, correct, or delete server-stored personal data — may not apply in the usual way. However, you retain full control of your data through your device and iCloud settings, as described in the Data Deletion & Control section above. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. For material changes that affect how your information is handled, we will provide additional notice where appropriate, such as a notice within the app. By continuing to use Kwomi after the updated policy becomes effective, you acknowledge the revised policy.
